WHAT’S THE ROLE ABOUT?
As a Journey Producer, you will deliver an exceptional client experience by being an expert in production (both Agile and Waterfall) – championing the solution, the process and delivery of the final product.


IMPORTANT NOTES ABOUT THIS ROLE
•   Journey is a company that is transitioning from Waterfall to Scrum. Therefore, you may be required to concurrently work on Waterfall and Scrum projects across multiple clients. It’s vital that you have had some experience working in a digital agency on a variety of projects/clients and that you have proven experience working on projects in an Scrum/Agile environment.
•   It is also vital that your Production/Project Management experience has been on digital development projects (websites, apps, software). We will be unable to consider your application if you have not accumulated project management experience in this specific area.
•   Due to current COVID border and visa restrictions, we can only review candidates who have a valid work visa/working rights for New Zealand, and are currently located in NZ.
•   The New Zealand Journey office is located in Auckland, however it may be possible for our Senior Digital Producer to be located elsewhere in New Zealand (especially Christchurch).
•   We will not be engaging an external recruitment company for this role.



You will:
  • Work with the client service team and the client directly to understand the client’s overall business objectives and strategies.
  • Work with the wider Journey team to design, develop and deliver solutions for a variety of online projects.
  • Develop scope of work documents.
  • Manage the development process to minimise scope creep.
  • Ensure projects are delivered on-time and on-budget.
  • Write user stories so all requirements are clear and easy to understand.
  • Create and manage sprint plans.
  • Run daily project stand-ups.
  • Run project retrospectives.
  • Facilitate workshops and other requirement-gathering meetings.
  • Develop detailed project plans for project delivery.
  • Lead and/or facilitate the presentation of deliverables to clients.
  • Work with the technical lead and other team members on process improvements, and other initiatives designed to improve the effectiveness and quality of interactive delivery within the business.
  • Prepare project financial reports and monitor billing activity for projects as part of the effort to ensure profitability.

Essential technical knowledge:
  • Technically savvy, with familiarity in digital development technologies, including content management systems and development languages.
  • Extensive experience working with both Waterfall and Scrum projects.
  • Familiarity with best practices in the digital landscape, including usability, design, development and project management.
  • Ability to lead cross functional teams (including creative and technology), by setting project objectives and managing the them.
  • 5+ years of previous experience managing digital development projects (including estimation and project plan development) preferably within a digital agency environment.
  • Demonstrated experience through the entire lifecycle of digital development from information architecture to prototyping, user testing, internal testing and bug-fixing.
